Malwa Gramin Bank Exam Syllabus, Selection Procedure

The selection of the candidates for all the posts shall be made on the basis of written test of 70 marks and interview of 30 marks.

WRITTEN TEST  for Post Code- 01 (OFFICER SCALE-III) & Post Code- 02 (OFFICER SCALE-II)

All the eligible candidates will be called for a written test, which will be of objective type, comprising the following:

Note:

  • WRONG ANSWERS given in the objective tests will result in negative marks. 1/4th MARK will be deducted for each wrong answer.
  • The candidates can opt for either 4a or 4b (General English or General Hindi).
  • The total marks obtained in all the four papers will be converted from 200 to 70, for the purpose of preparing merit list after the written examination.
  • To be eligible for interview a candidate must obtain minimum of 40% marks (35% for SC/OBC/PC/EXS) in written test.

Marks obtained in the written test will be reckoned for merit ranking. Accordingly, candidates will be called for interview.
Depending upon the number of vacancies only those candidates who ranked sufficiently high in the written test will be called for interview in the ratio of 1:3. Mere eligibility/pass in the test shall Not vest any right for being called for interview.

The detailed information regarding the written test will be given in the “Acquaint Yourself Booklet” which will be sent to the candidates alongwith the call letter for written examination. The Bank reserves the right to hold a second stage of written examination if required, on the basis of the order of merit in the written examination of the first stage as referred to above. If the second stage of written examination is held, the subsequent process of interview and further process would be on the basis of order of merit secured in the second stage examination.

Final selection will be on the basis of the ranking accorded, after adding the marks obtained in the written test and interview, subject to securing minimum marks in the written test and interview, as stated above.

TEST CENTRES AND DATE OF WRITTEN EXAMINATION (FOR POST CODE 1 to 4):

  • The written test for the Officers Scale-III Post will be held on 08-01-2012 (Sunday)
  • The written test for the Officers Scale-II Post will be held on 08-01-2012 (Sunday)
  • The written test for the Officers Scale-I Post will be held on 08-01-2012 (Sunday)
  • The Written Test for the post of Office Assistant will be held on 18-12-2011 (Sunday)

The dates of examination are tentative. The exact dates will be communicated to the candidates through call letter for each examination. The Bank, however, reserves the right to cancel or make any change in the date of examination, if need arises.

The Written test will be scheduled at the following Centres and the address of the Venue will be advised in the Call Letter:

10. Pre- Examination Training for SC/ Minority/EXS candidates. (For post code 03 and 04 )

It is proposed to impart free Pre- Examination Training to SC/ST/Minority/EXS Candidates at Patiala. The Bank reserves the
right to add or delete the centres of Pre-Examination Training depending upon the response. An eligible candidate, who
wishes to avail Pre-Examination Training, may indicate the same at the appropriate place in the application form. All expenses
regarding travelling, boarding, lodging etc will be borne by the candidate for attending the Pre- Examination Training programme
at the concerned Training Centre. Please note that Pre-Examination Training will not confer on the candidate any
right of recruitment in the Bank.

 

The candidates should down load their Pre-Examination Training call letter from Bank’s
website
www.malwagraminbank.com by entering his / her details registration Number and
Password/Date of Birth, between the following dates. No hard copy of the call letter will be sent by post.
